By proceeding with a reservation, the guest acknowledges and accepts the terms set out herein.

Reservation Deposits and Payment Requirements

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card at the time of booking. A deposit equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of the reservation, including applicable taxes and fees, is required upon booking to confirm the reservation. The remaining balance is due in full upon check-in. Reservations not secured in accordance with these deposit terms may be subject to cancellation at the sole discretion of the Resort.

Reservations will be held until 8:00 p.m. on the scheduled date of arrival. Failure to arrive by that time, without prior written notice or approved delay, will result in forfeiture of the fifty percent (50%) deposit paid at the time of booking. Alternative deposit or prepayment terms may apply to third-party reservations, group contracts, promotional rates, or negotiated discounts, and shall be disclosed at the time of booking or in the applicable contract.

Accepted Payment Methods

The Resort accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other major credit card providers. Cash payments, including in Canadian or United States dollars, may be accepted for final balances only when accompanied by a valid credit card for the required pre-authorization. All guests, including those paying by cash, are required to present a valid government-issued photo identification and a major credit card in their name upon check-in.

Personal cheques are not accepted under any circumstances unless approved in writing by Resort management prior to arrival. The Resort does not offer cheque-cashing services. All digital and contactless payment methods are subject to approval and may be refused at the Resort’s discretion.

Pre-Authorization and Damage Deposit

A pre-authorization hold in the amount of one hundred and fifty Canadian dollars ($150.00 CAD) per reservation shall be placed on the guest’s credit card at the time of check-in. This pre-authorization is not a charge but a temporary hold to secure the Resort against incidental charges, damages, missing property, in-room purchases, and excessive cleaning fees.

The Resort will release the pre-authorization hold upon check-out once the guest folio is reviewed and confirmed to be accurate and free of outstanding charges. However, the timeline for the return of held funds is determined solely by the issuing bank or financial institution of the guest. The Resort shall not be held responsible for any delays associated with the release of pre-authorized funds.

Guests are solely responsible for understanding the pre-authorization policies of their financial institution. Guests using debit cards for pre-authorizations are advised that certain banks may hold funds for up to thirty (30) business days.

Third-Party Authorizations and Remote Payments

In the event that a reservation is paid for by a third party who will not be present at check-in, a completed and pre-approved Credit Card Authorization Form must be submitted in advance of arrival. The form must include a copy of the credit card holder’s valid government-issued photo identification and images of the front and back of the signed credit card.

By submitting this form, the third party accepts full financial responsibility for all charges associated with the reservation, including any damages, losses, in-room purchases, or penalties resulting from violations of Resort policies. The Resort reserves the right to refuse third-party reservations or authorizations at its sole discretion.

The guest who checks in under a third-party reservation shall also be required to provide a valid credit card in their name at the time of check-in, upon which a $150.00 CAD pre-authorization hold will be applied in accordance with this Policy.

Rates, Capacity, and Occupancy

All published rates are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes, which may vary by jurisdiction. The Resort reserves the right to adjust rates at any time without notice. Children under the age of one (1) are exempt from this surcharge.

In-Room Purchases and Charges

Each room and cabin is equipped with a Wi-Fi-enabled tablet that offers in-room dining and service options. All purchases made through this system will be charged to the guest folio and applied to the credit card on file or the pre-authorization hold. Guests are responsible for all charges posted to their account during their stay. A final itemized receipt, including all applicable taxes and service fees, will be emailed to the guest following check-out.

Post-Stay Charges and Damage Recovery

The guest, or the authorized third-party cardholder, expressly authorizes Somerset Lakeside Resort to charge the card on file for any unpaid balances, including but not limited to room charges, in-room purchases, property damage, missing items, excessive cleaning fees, or violation penalties. Should the cost of such charges exceed the initial $150.00 CAD pre-authorization hold, the Resort reserves the right to charge the full remaining balance without further notice.

In the event damages or fees are discovered following check-out, the Resort will attempt to notify the guest by email or phone prior to processing additional charges. Failure to respond shall not negate the Resort’s right to recover the full value of damages incurred.

Overdue Accounts and Collection

Guests are required to pay all charges in full upon check-out unless otherwise arranged in writing. In the event of non-payment or partial payment, a monthly interest charge of two percent (2.0%), compounded monthly, will be applied to the outstanding balance. If a balance remains unpaid sixty (60) days after the original due date, a seventy-five dollar ($75.00 CAD) administrative penalty will be applied to cover internal account handling and recovery efforts.

The Resort reserves the right to refer any overdue account to a third-party collection agency for recovery. Should legal action or third-party collection efforts become necessary, the guest shall be liable for all reasonable costs of recovery, including but not limited to legal fees, court costs, collection agency fees, and applicable interest.

Failure to resolve outstanding balances may result in the suspension or denial of future bookings and may affect the guest’s ability to reserve through affiliated networks.
